Animated Radio

The CMARA club is looking for Hams who would be interested in building a MCW interface project. This small box would connect to your 2 meter FM radio or HT and allow you to send CW on 2M Simplex frequency, or on the Repeater. The project is based on an article that appeared in QST magazine in April 2013. The plan is to hold a CW Training Net one night a week in place of George's Old Timers Net.

So if you are interested in building a nice hardware project and learn more about electronics, soldering, and general kit building, and then learning CW or brushing up your CW skills, then this is the project for you!

Expressing interest does not commit you to the project, it gets you on the list for further e-mails and once we get bulk buy pricing for the parts and the printed circuit board, then you can decide if you want in on the project. The more people we get the lower the price per kit will be.

This will be a simple circuit board (through hole) with no small surface mount devices, so even the first time builder will be able to build this kit.

Please e-mail Greg WA1JXR at wa1jxr@comcast.net if you are interested in the MCW Project.

Thanks and 73's
Greg
