When will Field Day be?
Field Day will be on Saturday and Sunday, June 28 & 29, 2025. Setup will start at 9 AM on Saturday, with the operating event running from 2 PM Saturday to 2 PM Sunday, with teardown and cleanup happening after 2 PM for as long as required. Be aware that the public open house for the event will be from 2 PM – 6 PM on Saturday.
Where will Field Day be?
This year CMARA will hold Field Day at the Trout Brook Recreation Area at 320 Manning Street in Holden. We’ve reserved the pavilion and the lodge at the area for the entire Field Day weekend. Facilities in the lodge include 2 bathrooms, a fireplace, refrigerator, electric griddle, steamer, microwave, 6 cafeteria tables and one serving table. There is plenty of open field areas as well as trees around the pavilion and lodge for hanging antennae. The town’s recreation department has given us explicit permission to hang wire antennae from the trees.
What We Need from Amateur Radio Operator Participants at Field Day
Our largest needs for Field Day is amateur radio operators to come, set up, operate, and tear down the event stations. The following are special roles that we presently do not have filled.
- Cook Tent
- Need 3 – 4 people to plan and cook meals
- All expenses for food will be reimbursed by the club
- Need to cover Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast
- Club to order sandwich platter for Saturday lunch
- GOTA Coach
- Be the “Band Captain” for the GOTA station
- Show general public or those that haven’t been on the air before how to make QSOs during Field Day
- W1AW Bulletin
- All participants are encouraged to try to copy the W1AW message Friday night before we get to the event on Saturday.

- Signs, Banners and Flags
- We need any CMARA and amateur radio related signs, banners and flags that you may have. Bring everything you’ve got!

Other Important Details
- As per normal, CMARA will be providing Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast to all amateur radio participants. Drinks for amateur radio operator participants will also be available for the duration of the event.
